I watched "Shame" the other night and it was a decent movie. Talked about it a bit on SI so I'll kinda just repeat myself. It is basically about a sex addict who seems to be able to function well in his addiction at first, then his sister moves in with him and it shows him slowly unravel and begin to struggle with his needs. She has some problems too but the film never really goes into it much with her but there is an obvious incest atmosphere going on between them. You have prostitutes, stacks of porn, incest, even a gay adult book store scene, big budget style filming with an artsy touch that is sometimes reminiscent of Kubrick in the way it is filmed and I can definitely see the resemblance to Brando's sex obsessed character in the classic "Last Tango in Paris"

Have to check out Cabin in the Woods this weekend after hearing so many good things. Me and the missus got free tickets when we went to watch Insidious as the fire alarm went blasting off in the cinema at the point where the weird old lady is doing the seance and scared everyone half to death.

My girlfriend watched Man Who Fell To Earth, and I paid attention on and off. Weird movie, watching it I realize that Phillip K Dick was referencing it frequently in his last books. All those 70s flicks treated their nudity and sex the same way, all of them are very recognizable.

Khrustalyov, My Car!

Newest film by Russian filmmaker Aleksei German. It's about the final days of Stalin’s regime, as a Red Army surgeon’s life is thrown into disarray when he’s accused of involvement in a plot to assassinate Soviet leaders.

Cabin in the Woods wasn't as good as I had hoped/been informed.

This is true, that was a cool scene. It was like a "BAM!" moment.

I think I just like anything meta, or anything where the audience is being analyzed through a character. I was disappointed that Cthulhu didn't make an appearance at the end.

Yeah, but my feeling was that the overall was sort of a nod to Lovecraft, just as, of course, I would relate the dude with the table saw blades in his head holding the puzzle to Barker. But then again, Joss Wheadon is probably making fun of all of us while counting his money.
